Meet JACOB CASTILLO

Candidate for

Mayor

IMG_0718.jpg

I’m Jacob Castillo, a husband, father, local business owner, and longtime Zillah resident with a deep love for our town and its people. I grew up understanding the value of hard work and personal responsibility — values that have guided me through every stage of life.

As a former airline pilot, I was trusted with the safety of passengers and learned how to make confident decisions under pressure. Today, I run a growing junk removal business (from Jets to Junk) right here in the Valley, where I know firsthand what it takes to balance a budget, lead a team, and serve a community.

My wife and I chose to raise our family in Zillah because of its strong local values, safe neighborhoods, and tight-knit community. I’m running for mayor to preserve what makes Zillah special — not just for my kids, but for every family who calls this place home. I’ve served before, and now I’m stepping up again, this time to ensure that the future of our town stays in local hands.

PRESERVING OUR SMALL TOWN CHARM

Zillah isn’t just a place on the map — it’s a way of life. We value open spaces, familiar faces, quiet streets, and the sense of peace that comes from knowing your neighbors. As mayor, I will work to protect Zillah from overdevelopment, reckless spending, and the kind of bureaucracy that turns small towns into something unrecognizable. We can grow smart without losing who we are.

Whether it’s supporting local agriculture, respecting property rights, or making sure growth fits our values — I’ll always put Zillah first.

  • Zillah doesn’t need top-down policies from the westside. We need hometown solutions, from people who actually live here.

  • We’re not looking to reinvent Zillah — we just want to protect what works and fix what doesn’t.

  • Keeping Zillah Zillah means standing up to outside influence and making sure local voices guide local decisions.

  • I won’t let unelected officials push agendas that don’t match our values. If you're not working for Zillah, then what are you doing?.

  • The mayor has the power to set the tone — and I will make sure Zillah stays true to itself.

STRONGER COMMUNITY THROUGH ENGAGEMENT

I believe government works best when it listens. That’s why I’ll hold regular town hall meetings, keep an open-door policy, and ensure decisions are made with real community input — not just behind closed doors.

Zillah is filled with people who care deeply — from parents and teachers to farmers and business owners. My job as mayor will be to connect those voices, clear away red tape, and make sure the people of Zillah are empowered to shape their own future. You know what’s best for Zillah — and I’m here to make sure City Hall hears you loud and clear.

Safe Streets Smooth Roads:

Zillah should be a place where families feel safe walking their neighborhood and where roads reflect the pride we take in our community. Right now, too many vehicles speed into town from county roads without slowing down, putting our children and neighbors at risk. These are residential streets — not highways.

As mayor, I will work with law enforcement to reduce dangerous speeding and improve signage and visibility at key entry points into town. I’ll also prioritize pothole repairs and road maintenance so our streets are safe, clean, and drivable — not neglected.
